THE COST OF A CHILD’S FUTURE
At The Ark Trust, education has always been more than just going to class. It is one of the strongest tools we have to give children hope, dignity, and a future beyond their current circumstances.
Years ago, the home made a major investment by establishing a model school for the children and the surrounding community. The vision was simple: provide quality education while reducing the rising costs of constantly paying school fees elsewhere. Over time, the school has become a blessing not only to the children at the home, but also to families within the community seeking affordable and reliable education for their children.
The classrooms are filled with learning, growth, laughter, and dreams.
But even with this milestone, one challenge continues to weigh heavily on the home ; high school education.
When the children complete primary school, many perform well and qualify to join good secondary schools with better facilities, stronger academic programs, and more opportunities for growth. These are the moments that should feel victorious. A child studies hard, receives their results, and finally sees the possibility of a brighter future ahead.
Yet for many of them, reality quickly interrupts the celebration.
The cost of secondary education is often beyond what the home can comfortably afford. School fees alone are difficult, but there are also uniforms, shopping, transport, books, and other requirements. Because of financial limitations, the home is often forced to enroll children in nearby day schools, even when they have qualified for schools that could offer greater opportunities and exposure.
It is heartbreaking to watch a child carry big dreams while resources remain small.
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their potential fully — not to have their future determined by finances.
Today, we appeal to well-wishers, sponsors, and partners to stand with the children of The Ark Trust by supporting high school education. Your support can help keep a child in school, ease the burden on the home, and give deserving students access to opportunities they have worked so hard for.
For these children, education is not just about passing exams.
It is about hope.
It is about dignity.
It is about the chance for a different future.
