Yesterday, we sat down with a special group of young people; our care leavers.
These are bright, hopeful young individuals who completed their high school education last year.
Some grew up in our home, others we supported through school fees while living with their families. Different journeys, but one shared story: resilience.
The meeting was simple, but important.
We talked about the future; careers, purpose, and the next steps in life.
There was excitement in the room. Dreams of becoming teachers, journalists, entrepreneurs, and more. You could feel their hope.
But alongside that hope was a hard reality.
For years, we have walked alongside them, making sure they remain in school, mentoring them, and filling in wherever necessary.
Now, the time has come for them to take the next step forward… but unfortunately, we cannot fully provide for their college education and skill training like we did before.
And this is where the story cannot end.
Because these young people are not looking for handouts, they are looking for opportunity.

The opportunity to create their future.
The opportunity to become self-reliant.
With the right support, their stories can change not just their lives, but entire families and communities.
