FACES BEHIND THE ARK TRUST: MEET PETER MUREITHI
Faces Behind The Ark Trust: Peter Mureithi
At The Ark Trust (Napastaa Children’s Home), every role has a story to tell on growth, purpose, and impact.
Meet Peter Mureithi, or as we fondly call him Baba Blessing.
Peter joined The Ark Trust in 2010 as a security guard. Over the years, Peter has grown with the organization. He has worked as a caretaker and is now a pool instructor and a gardener in our event gardens. Peter is a perfect example of what can be built on over time.
Today, Peter plays a key role in generating income for the institution through swimming lessons, while also equipping children with a life skill. What he enjoys most about his work is the opportunity to give back; to contribute, in his own way, to the growth and success of the children at The Ark Trust (Napastaa Children’s Home).
“I want to be part of their journey,” he says. “To see them grow and succeed.”
His journey has not been without challenges. He remembers one moment when someone almost drowned.
“It was a scary moment, but I was able to handle it,” he shares.
Peter has a big dream for the future.
“I would like to see the pool expanded so we can host interschool competitions,” he says.
He also hopes to see The Ark Trust (Napastaa Children’s Home) grow.
“When the institution grows, we all grow,” he adds.
Peter also warmly invites the community to visit and enjoy the pool, sharing his belief that water has healing properties and assuring everyone that he will be there, ready to guide and support them.
As The Ark Trust (Napastaa Children’s Home) grows, stories like Peter’s remind us that impact is not just in programs, but in people.
